What Kakobuyde is

Kakobuyde is a hands-on review desk for shopping agents — the services that let you order from Taobao, Weidian, 1688 and similar marketplaces, store goods in a China warehouse, run quality-control checks and forward everything to your door. We are based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and we have been publishing since 2021.

Nothing on this site is rewritten from a press release. Every agent, shipping line and haul service we score has been ordered through and tested by our testing team, at our own expense, with the order ticket kept on file.

How the desk started

Marcus Lindqvist spent four years on a Rotterdam freight-forwarding desk handling consolidated parcels out of Shenzhen and Guangzhou. In 2021 he started a private spreadsheet of agent fees, warehouse cut-off times and line weight limits, mostly to stop himself getting caught out by storage charges. The spreadsheet grew a score column, the score column grew a rubric, and the rubric became Kakobuyde.

What began as one person and a hanging scale is now a three-person desk with an order log, a retest calendar and a published five-point scale.

The team

  • Marcus Lindqvist, Editor-in-Chief — owns the order log and the scoring rubric, re-tests one agent per cycle himself, and signs off on every published score.
  • Priya Raghavan, Reviews Editor — runs the haul desk: QC photo checks, size and material verification, packaging notes and the measurement database.
  • Tomás Herrera, Research Editor — builds the monthly rate tables, line comparisons and order-timing benchmarks behind each review.

How we work

We order, we wait, we photograph, we measure, we weigh, we compare. Test orders are placed like any other customer order and paid for with desk funds; the tickets, photo sets and weights are archived so a score can be traced back to the parcel it came from. Scores use the five-point scale described on our review methodology page, and hands-on scores use the full 1 / 5 to 5 / 5 scale.

We re-order every featured service at least once every six months. If a partner changes what it charges or how it handles parcels, the page is re-tested before the old score stays up.

Getting in touch

Corrections, questions and testing suggestions go to editorial@kakobuyde.net. We review messages according to their urgency and the available evidence.

Reading our coverage

Storage days, repacking choices and billed weight are central to our haul coverage; the order ticket connects those warehouse decisions with the parcel and costs at arrival.

Marcus Lindqvist

Editor-in-Chief

Shopping-agent fee structures, parcel consolidation, and cross-border consumer logistics.

Marcus Lindqvist is Editor-in-Chief at Kakobuyde, keeping the order log personally and signing off every published score. Marcus owns the five-point rubric and the comparison tables beneath the rate pages, checking scores against the tickets behind them. One agent enters the retest cycle every six months, and parcels Marcus scores are personally weighed and photographed. The coverage centres on agent fees, consolidation and cross-border logistics, with order records, parcel measurements and recurring retests forming the practical work behind the desk's articles and comparisons.

Priya Raghavan

Reviews Editor

QC photo analysis, garment measurement, and packaging-condition checks.

Priya Raghavan runs the haul desk at Kakobuyde and keeps a measurement log for every garment checked against a seller's size chart. Garments are ordered in up to three size runs, measured flat across the chest, waist, sleeve and hem, and compared number by number with the listed chart. Parcels are photographed before opening and again after consolidation, while stitching, hardware and odour are recorded on arrival. Priya also marks which defects a QC photo set can establish and which it cannot, distinguishing photographic observations from measurements of the received item.

Tomás Herrera

Tomás Herrera

Research Editor

Shipping-line rate tracking, agent-fee tables, and order-timing data.

Tomás Herrera maintains the rate tables, line comparisons and order-timing logs behind Kakobuyde reviews. The full rate sheet is rebuilt monthly, covering domestic China shipping, warehouse storage windows, consolidation fees and line surcharges, with fees checked against actual desk orders. Timing research follows orders from payment through warehouse arrival and final delivery, while the method records four checkpoints: payment, seller dispatch, warehouse arrival and international handover. Published timings use the median with the sample size stated, showing the order data used in each comparison.
